So this is a really good benefit. Plus, all the bills split in half and as the human is a social being, its way better than living alone. You have to be very careful in choosing your room mate. For instance if you are a girl, but you can’t stand girly girl stuff, it’s not a good idea to bring such a room mate. Also if you don’t like noise and on the phone people all the time. You could actually get along way better with a boy room mate. In fact, every body gets along with everybody as long as they fallow a set of rules. Remember, having a room mate, especially in collage is a very popular method because it saves money, and some might become friends for life.
So, here are your rules. First up establish a date pay for the rent. This is done in the presence of the owner. Second of al establish who’s space is what and cleaning days. Make sure that there is a respect between you and your roommate. If friends come over to visit, how long will they stay? Also are they allowed to have a key? Is this serious? Are they moving together? In this case you have to talk to your room mate and for all of this not to happen in a negative way, you have to have a serious discussion. Not only about space, privacy and money but also cleaning and food. Try doing things like every night you wash the dishes and your room mate takes out the garbage. Next evening you take the trash and he or she does the dishes and so on. Try splitting chores in an equal way.
Make sure you also have a learning schedule if you are in collage or when you need to rest if you come from work.
All of this has to be brought up and even the smaller thinks like if you can borrow the things of the other. Some people might not like it even if they live with somebody for a very long time. So make sure you don’t annoy your room mate by asking him what is he disturbed about but also tell him or her what disturbs you. Communication is essential, and if you communicate and get along with your room mate than you could do a really great economical business.
Make sure you meet your partner before you move in together. Just go out for some drinks and see how she or he behaves. If you suspect that these are not serious people you better try for somebody else.
